My hairdresser told me that only two things really get hair dye out: more hair dye, and hair spray. I sprayed my shower curtains with hairspray when they were dotted with hair dye and then machine washed them and they were fine. Not sure it'd work so well on carpet... hope it works out, Kate.

..yeah, I've heard about the hairspray one, I don't know what the science to it is though...

My dad's office has this VAX machine for steam cleaning carpets and I swear it's never there, somebody's always got it at home to get some tough stain out of the carpet I remember when I was much younger we had a cream carpet in the living room and somebody had an accident with the red wine when my parents had people over (think it was one of my parents who spilled it), never seen so many adults get into such a flap in my life

Is it permanent dye? If so, I don't think it will come out, as it'll have dyed the carpet fabrics... I'm not positive though. :/

Maybe you could dye the rest of the carpet the same colour
