Not like there's much to celebrate really, obviously he's an awful person but he's lived a long life, his Church and his views have achieved worldwide notoriety, like Alex said he's now largely handed over to his daughter and it seems like he will die of natural causes. He can probably look back on his life with a fair amount of satisfaction

I actually hope loads of gay people go to his funeral to prove that although he had that view, death isnt wished upon anyone and we still respect him. I would hate to think that gay people would wish this upon him and be so disrespectful, no matter what his views are.

as someone who was raised catholic, i would argue that the whole argument that other religions are more loving or true, is actually more harmful to our youth.

I was raised in a so-called "loving" church community, and no matter what nice words they use, it was always clear that being gay was wrong, and that homosexuals go to hell, and that being gay is wrong.

Atleast the WBC are honest and direct about it.

I think the Pope lecturing the world about poverty, while he's living in a palace, is OBSCENE.

The Vatican has hundreds of millions of dollars net worth, but they have the nerve to talk about poverty??

The Pope could feed 30 families for a year by just selling one ring.

If we are going to have a circle jerk of condemning the WBC, let's not leave out the even bigger players, who are just as bad.
