Look, she has had one child and it was it apearsf rom what she said, for her, an easy birth,so it seems.
She was wrong to generalise as to all births are or should be likely the same for all women,I know from my own family they are not but it is not unusual for births to be very much easier than others.

My Mother for instance, had 4 children,2 of the births were harder than the others, the other was much easier and when she had me, she didn't even know she was having another baby until she was 6 months into it and apparently I was her easiest birth of the lot,a short labour and relatively little pain.

So perhaps Helen should have said, for her, it was a very easy birth and left it at that.

I think as to how she said it, I would have said to her, well good for you but it is not like that for the majority of women,
However I wouldn't crucify her for saying it,it is hardly the crime of the century.
Just as quite honestly I think a lot of things 'all' the housemates say are over analysed as ways to just get at housemates not liked.

Saying the pain is in your head and women who say child birth is hard are knobs was quite insulting and complete BS. Of course it ****ing hurts, even someone who's not had a baby and thinks about what you're actually doing has to appreciate that

Every pregnancy and birth is different also.If she has another may be easy again or it may open her eyes a little.

I agree but I have heard some people say Chidlbirth is nothing to fear, as they found it really easy.
I said she was wrong to generalise and that she should have said, for her it was an easy birth and left it at that.
However I do think by now, surely, just about everyone knows that one of Helen's biggest problems is not really thinking before she speaks.

Having said that,My Grandmother always said something that I have unfortunately strayed from as to this subject by even commenting on this on subject on this thread.
It was, 'men should keep quiet as to having children because she was pretty sure that if men had the babies, there would most probably only ever be one per family'.

I think I better shut up now.

Did she say all women who feel pain in childbirth are d**ks?
I thought she said hers was relatively pain free but those who dont do as they are told and dont listen are d**ks because it makes it worse.

She was young and maybe pretty out of it, perhaps she doesn't remember much?

She said that and she also called women who said it was painful knobs iirc (although I could be wrong on that)

Ah right, so she's being judged on something she may not have said and the bit she did say has been taken out of context.

I watched the show last night and that's what I heard I only watched it the one time hence why I added that I couldn't be 100% sure of her exact words, for fairness sake. I was pretty sure that she used the word "knobs" though when talking about other womens child birth experiences, which, in no matter what context, is rude and ignorant, no two women will have the same experience and no two births are the same

I'll definitely listen to it again, even saying that though, how does she think she knows that about what other women do and don't do? She's had one child, does she make a habit out of sitting in on other peoples births to see whether they do as they're told or not?

She says knobs in most conversations tbf I doubt it was an intentional slur on anyones experience.
