The French really need to step up security on their side.They are fecking useless.They need to tighten up their borders big time and stop these immigrants even getting as far as the Channel Tunnel.They also need armed police on their side of the tunnel and checks on lorries before they go through.We need better security on our side.They should'nt have even got on British soil.

If i was born in a third world country, i know i would try to escape to a better country when i was old enough too, so i have a lot of sympathy for these immigrants/refugees.

As a gay man it terrifies me thinking about the possibility that i could have been born in a third world country. i know i would have tried to escape, or if that was impossible, maybe just killed myself.

I think considering how women are treated in most third world countries the same would apply for women. countries where it's not illegal to beat your wife, it;s not illegal to rape your wife. countries where girls as young as 12 are married to adult men.

and i even have sympathy for normal straight men, the ones that don't go along with the status quo, if they are intellectual and stand up against these oppressive regimes they are equally in danger.

It's a very ****ed up situation.

Combination of things I think. For one it's not as though no other countries in Europe are dealing with an influx of migrants - the UK generally takes less than our fair share compared to places like Sweden and Germany. Italy and Greece are breaking under the strain of so many migrants travelling across by sea. They also might have the wrong impression of Britain where they think it's much easier to get a job and some money or that its easier to blend into the system and avoid deportation. They might just have more family here or there's the appeal of longer established communities from their country of origin.

Whatever the reasons it's exactly the sort of problem the EU should exist for and there does need to be a European solution which is fair both for all the member states and for the migrants themselves
