It wouldn't have been axed. Although, wasn't the decision to axe BB made before BB10 aired?

Apparently C4 were planning to axe BB after the controversial race row, but renewed their contract due to the success of BB7.

Yes, they were planning to axe it after CBB5, due to the damage the race row did to the brand.

But they still went along with the contract, due to the success of BB7 the summer before - in other words, it was still doing well, and they had high hopes for BB8. So they kept it.
