...wow, that's the first time I've seen this and don't know who she is or what has led up to this but that's extremely heartfelt..I have sons and they don't really do social media but I've heard some really grim stuff from friends who have daughters...my niece used to do modelling and some movie work and I know that she had some bad stuff said as well on things like Facebook, although as a balance to that, she had some very lovely and supportive stuff as well...

..I don't think this is just a 'teenage' thing though, people can be whoever/whatever they want to be online and sadly, too many choose to be people who have no thought for others or their lives..it's more about the 'impact' and being noticed... I agree with her, being themselves/whatever themselves is and not looking for that impact is the only way I think, that they can ever be happy with who they are and begin to understand and like themselves..

I do happen to believe that, as an adult, I have a responsibility to look out for teens and children *especially* if their own parents seem to have let it slide somewhere. It's not something I make a crusade of, but I'll throw in my two cents to that effect where appropriate . Kids can be idiots and also complete arseholes but that usually means they need a hand up, not shoved back down. You might disagree but that's only because you're meaner thn' me.

I am probably meaner than you. That said, I have a niece not much younger than this girl and the idea that she'd have two thousand pictures of herself on Instagram is a ridiculous one.

Is your niece a model though? The girl this thread is about is a model, hence why she had so many photos of herself, it's how she made her money, her career. The thing is though, as a model she always has to look her best, it's her beauty that gains her followers and gets her modelling jobs. She's putting herself out there in a video where she's not looking her best, where she's sobbing, wearing minimal/no make-up and not dressed up in fancy clothes (that if she were to wear, would get money for the promo). I don't see how this benefits her in any way, so I don't know why she would do it for attention.
