Not sure specifically what you are asking LT, but I did a bit of Canadian history reading for myself a few years back… and really it all comes down to the fact that Canada is a vast territory and was settled in parts by differing nations… France established fur trading here in the 1500s and began colonizing their territory at the very onset of the 1600s. They gained prime trade territory at the base of the St. Lawrence River where Quebec city lies today. Their claim to the land was due to being superior, and their superiority came from being from a Christian nation of course. They supplied the natives with weaponry to fight tribal wars for territory they eventually took from them. They set up missions, and parceled out the land to their own country men. The Metis culture is a result of their intermarriages with the Algonquians and remains today all across Canada. But really, the answer to your question is… because of the English. In 1629 England, under King Charles I, took Quebec from France and shut them out of the Fur trade for three years. It is because King Charles negotiated it’s return that the French were allowed back in to set up their missions and populate with the native tribes… So blame England tbh

Last nights show featured a conversation where Kelsey said Dallas's beard was "like a Poutine"... what is a Poutine you might ask??
Poutine (/puːˈtiːn/; Quebec French: [put͡sɪn] ( listen)) is a Canadian dish, originating in the province of Quebec, made with french fries and cheese curds topped with a light brown gravy Originating in Canada and unique to Canada... it's a dish best found and served in Quebec imo... the Western part of Canada does not to the dish well ![]() ![]()

Last Nights Live feeds... Kelsey said she needed a Mickey to get as drunk as she wanted to be.... So what's a Mickey you might ask??
![]() A term used by 88% of Canadians for a 375 ml bottle of liquor, In the United States, the term “mickey” is slang term for a date rape drug, and 69% of Americans were unaware of its more benign Canadian usage. Mickey is actually one of a series of uniquely Canadian booze measurements. “Two four” (a case of 24 beers), “twenty sixer” (a 750 ml bottle of liquor) and “forty-pounder” (a 1.14 liter bottle of liquor) are all virtually unknown outside the Great White North.
