Exactly.. The amount of people on benefits is high enough without the scammers
Most of the people on benefits need the benefits for various reasons.

Obviously, Jackiey doesn't need the benefits - but many people rely on these benefits for everyday living and contrary to what the media want you to think - only about 2% of people on benefits are scamming.

I was on benefit for a long time. Frankly, and this is going to inflame some of you, I don't have much of a problem with the scammers. If I'd known how to scam I would have done it too. The amount of money people on benefit generally get is still ridiculously low.

More money is defrauded through tax evasion than benefit fraud, but guess which group they go after more?

For someone who can't work the amount is terrible, and not enough to survive on.

I know that there are plenty of genuine people who need to claim benefits.. I worked in a benefits office for 5 years..

I just think that there are too many layabouts with no intention of ever trying to get a job.

Indeed. I agree. When I was on benefit I would go down to the office week after week, see the chavs that hang out there and it made me even more determined to get back to work. I remember one guy threatening one of the staff because his giro had come late. Incredible.

I had a chair thrown at me and one guy said he'd be waiting outside for me with his "bird" and another time a guy told me he had been watching me and he knew which clubs i went to etc and he said one day he would get me..

desperate for more giro's that the staff cant just generously give out.

Good question. Very good question. I'm not qualified to answer it as I want to work, live in a nice house and buy nice things.

quite alot of people are risking getting themselves a criminal record and sometimes its for as little as Ł37 per week

(some people do it for the housing and council tax benefit and that adds up to more)

There was a guy who signed on at the office I worked at and he wore designer suits and had a flashy car.. His name matched a car showroom down the road, I was sure he was a fraudulent claimant but he signed on for the low sum of money...

Don't get me wrong - I am not knocking anyone on benefits, who needs it. But it does annoy when people abuse the system.

The amount you can claim off benefits is ridiculously low for the people who actually need it - so as to why people scam in the first place...if they are earning money elsewhere (such as Jackiey, or as is more common working somewhere and not declaring it) then the benefit just provides extra cash. To some extent I'm sure that there are some people who feel that they have no choice but to scam the system, simply to earn enough money to survive. But in regard to Jackiey, this is clearly not the case.

The system is there to be abused. I don't have a problem with people who do abuse it. Get what you can, I say.

Scamming seems to be all about how much the individual is prepared to do to defraud the system. It's not easy to scam but it's also not hard. I know of people who permanently walk around with walking sticks in case some one checks up on them, so they can vouch that they're injured. As stick states there far more money defrauded in other area.

Because I was unemployed for a long time I have a kind of affinity to the long term jobless. Those who are genuinely looking, anyway. I think people should concentrate on the much more lucrative white collar crime that is being committed. There are many longterm jobless people who need to retrain , as I did. I think leave them alone and not bracket them with the chav scum you see hanging out at the job centres day after day

GRIT, the system is not there to be abused. you are encouraging people to be thieves and i have a big problem with that.
as a taxpayer why the hell should i be helping to pay crooks.
to say you have no problem with people getting as much as they can is telling them its fine to be criminals. thats disgusting.
serious crime starts with petty crime, just remember that.

I download music online - it would be hypocritical of me to condemn these people scamming benefits because I'm doing the exact same thing as them.

Most people seem to have this idea that people on benefits are living a life of luxury, buying TV's and electricals from the money they've got from it - but it's not like that at all. The money from benefits can go towards to very bare essentials.

Obviously people who genuinely have to rely on benefits dont live a life of luxury..

People who recive a lumpsum in the region of Ł50,000 and do live in luxury, with a millionaire daughter, i.e. Jackiey..

well I dont think her giro is going on bare essentials.. just pure greed.

well i agree that some people are struggling on benefits but some are doing very nicely indeed.
one couple i know do indeed milk the system for all its worth
and their house is filled with very expensive things, things which i as a working man could never expect to achieve. they even get a car supplied,WHY? because the wife is a very good actress !
another thing is how many times do you see interviews with the scroungers without a ciggarette in their mouth.?
now of course you might say but why should,nt they smoke,i agree ,but at 5 quid a pack it aint cheap.

I knew my last post would inflame some of you. I'm completely unrepentent. The system has so many holes that I almost admire people who find them.

Don't get me wrong of course these people are performing a criminal activity but the system needs a complete overhaul.

Suddenly there appears to be a mini electrical storm in the thread

A rushing wind and as if by magic Sticks reappears

again

wait a minute what happened to the club.
examines device, switches it off and then on again punches a few buttons

Let's see if this works ...

Suddenly Sticks shimmers and disappears like a half forgotten dream upon awakening

We are all getting carried away with these Newspaper reports again.

Jackyie will have her reasons for claiming benefits.

There is obviously "trouble in paradise" between Jade Goody and her mother. That doesn't take much to work out!

Jade Goody is worth millions and Jackyie has benefits coming in. This is just a load of, "red mist", between the two of them and is of NO concern to some nosey tabloid, but we all know how things get about.

WITCH-HUNT defently springs to mind!

__________________________________________

Jackyie's fee for Celebrity Big Brother will have to be taken into account, but Jackyie will sort that herself.

Like I said before:- "You can choose your friends, but you can't choose your family"

If Jade & her mum have communication problems at times, this is an argument without Big Brothe camera's watching.
