I mean, I think Raph's huuuuge blindspot here other than his general sanctimony is that he doesn't realize that "I'm here for the experience" and "I will take nearly 35K especially bc more than half of it is going to go to waste if nobody does" are not conflict view points at all. Taking money isn't a crime and it doesn't disqualify someone from wanting to have the experience of being on BB, especially when you were only on the show in the first place as part of a condition regarding second chance HMs.

I actually thought Raph had a point there.Andrew was protesting so much about not being there for money.He could've taken the Ł18k and let Sam have a chance at the Ł15k if that was the case.Also Andrew didn't seem to give **** that he just evicted Sam.He didn't even go and speak to him.

Just because he doesn't NEED it doesn't mean he doesn't want to win it.
Raph just likes to put people down for wanting the money like its a 'dirty' thing. No one is going to say they want the money and looking desperate.
Raph needs to pull back and realise that some people DO need the money. Not everyone can comfortably say they are JUST in there for the experience and the money is irrelevant.
Raph seems to think he is and looks a better person for being in there for other reasons than money...he needs to appreciate that not everyone is as financially secure like he is...and able to give up 10 weeks of earning potential just for 'the experience'.
Raph needs to be a little bit more humble and understand what that money means to them...instead of calling it dirty money. He shouldn't be so judgmental...but he does that a lot.

He had Simone one minute telling him Andrew was a money-grabber, but put that to one side. Then Andrew takes all the money and proves Simone right. You can't blame Raph for being annoyed.

In Raph's head though I think he was more upset about Andrew evicting Sam (as the other second-chance housemate) because it defeated the purpose of BB (public decides).

Tbf that would've happened if Andrew had've picked anyone that could win the show though, in fact even moreso in that case.

I do think that Andrew showed himself up to be a hypocrite though when he is saying that he doesn't care about the money and then uses a weak excuse for pushing the button that "Hannah would evict me" when I actually think that she could've gone for Charlotte or Tom.

Simone didn't say he was a money grabber - she said he needed the money as he didn't have a 'pot to piss in'. I think Andrew was more upset about her revealing his personal circumstances than anything else. I don't believe he is a money grabber for taking an opportunity that arose- if he is in financial difficulty, he'd be silly not to take it.

If Raph is upset about Andrew evicting Sam, his gripe should be with BB rather than Andrew who enabled housemates rather than the public to evict.

I wonder what Raph would have done had he'd have had the opportunity? He was quick enough to press the button when they were earning the money in their teams and he knew then that they were accumulating prize money.

No, not jealous, he's got no reason to be.
Andrew had just before we were shown the end of this twist that he wasn't interested in money.

However it's a game in there,Andrew went for it and got it.
I think it unfortunate someone can come in so late in a series and have any chance to walk away with near a third of the prize fund.

That's BB however.

Definitely though,Raph is not I would say,jealous of Andrew at all, disappointed yes and then he has the distorted reporting of Josie and Chanelle's boyfriend ringing in his ears about Andrew.

He has been a good friend, he didn't judge Andrew based on what Simone initially told him. It's only Andrew taking the second-chance money that made Raph question whether Simone was correct.

At least he's bloody got an opinion, the rest seem to just sit on their hands and coast along.

In the diary room, an element of jealousy came through. Raph seems to have a problem with people who are in there for the money even if they desperately need the money for themselves to live like Andrew or for their family like Deborah. And what he said about Andrew taking the weak option, when that is so far from te truth because he's leaving with 33k

I agree totally and for me it was even more stupid,when all could and should have been from near the start,to bring 4 more housemates in, so late on.
Then also have them able between the four of them to win 15k but not the series at all.
To then also have them included in any prize fund related tasks.

Although I don't blame Andrew for taking the money, you're right that the new housemates shouldn't have been included in a task which involved the prize fund when they have only been there for such a short time.

Yup. I agree with this. By all means do money tasks and stuff but the money won should be in addition to the prize fund, not taken from it tbh. I think since going to c5 the money has been messed with every year? Even as a one off, I wouldn't be happy but thats ok I guess, but every year...its taking the piss. Tbh prize fund should be higher than 100k now anyway...

One night when Joe asked Deborah if she would take the money (however much they offered) and she said she would cos she'd use it to help raise her child. Then Raph immediately shouted at him, 'but she's not here for the money' which she clearly is.
