They did not defend Anns views though. Neither of them did. Wayne basically said he knows nothing about her views (for all he knew Shane was making it up to stir **** really) and even if he did, he was not going to randomly attack her for them just because Shane was pushing him to. Amanda did not defend Anns actual views either. But had a problem with Shane (and Malika but more Shane) going behind Anns back rather than to her face. I reckon thats a fair point tbh

You can stick up for someone as a person without agreeing with all their views

We don't always agree, you and I Chuff, but I totally agree with you on this. All my gay friends are just part of the wider community, with a mixture of friends... I don't understand why people would want to section themselves off in the way some gay people want. Everyone has opinions, if we're going to scrutinise everyone to make sure they're views are "acceptable" before deciding whether they're good or bad, we're all going to be pretty lonely.

I don’t spend my time in gay bars and clubs either. Not very often anyway. I still consider myself a part of the wider gay community.

And I will always judge people on their views and opinions. It’s who they are. If I meet someone at a bus stop and have a pleasant conversation I’m not going to pursue a friendship with said person if they start spouting rubbish about foreigners coming over and stealing our jobs. Or talking about banging birds or any of the usual stuff you hear from your average bigot.

The arguments used against same sex marriage were mostly used against interracial marriage 50-60 years ago in the US (yeah I know this is a British show, it's just an example). But people don't care because homophobia is not taboo.
