¯\_(ツ)_/¯
|
Off the top of my head I watch the following regularly: QI (BBC2), Fleabag (BBC2), Killing Eve (BBC3, I think?), Drag Race UK (BBC3), Graham Norton Show (BBC1), Match of the Day [2] (BBC1), Strictly when it's on (BBC1), News 24/Breakfast in the mornings (BBC1)
Sometimes if I'm in the mood: Only Connect, University Challenge, Masterchef (and its variants), David Attenborough's stuff, Line of Duty, Sherlock and Would I Lie to You? And will listen to Radio 1 or 2 occasionally on the way to/from work. Used to like Pointless but it's so impossible to win now, and The Chase is just better.

Are they bringing back that latest Alan Partridge vehicle? The one that was basically a spoof of The One Show?

I regularly watch BBC1 and also regularly find myself on iPlayer binging a series or watching a movie.

![]() We were "cord cutters" for a few years, though I do have a TV license now because Sky TV, Broadband AND TV license worked out cheaper than JUST broadband with BT (which is mad) and BT and Sky are the only half decent fibre operators where I am. I don't watch a lot of BBC (or much over-the-air TV in general...) just the occasional documentary on iPlayer and to be fair I am partial to a bit of Graham. It's not even that I think the cost is excessive, or that I don't think people SHOULD choose to pay it, it's objectively a decent deal for the volume of content on offer... I just have major issues with the compulsory nature of it and the way they conduct it (threatening letters, threats to send round the heavies to come into your house?). Like "technically" you can opt out and not watch over-the-air, like I said, we did for years and I still watch very little on Sky... but "opting out" involves having the nerve to tear up the legal threats every few weeks and a lot of people will simply pay up for peace of mind. Like a bloody protection racket ![]() |

£154 isnt much over a year, they let you pay in small instalments too don't they?
I do think pensioners should get to watch for free though.

Jolly good
|
I rarely watch the TV channels now, apart from the odd live football match. I used to watch Pointless but haven't been recently. The shows just don't interest me.
I sometimes hear Radio 2 in the car, and sometimes listen to Five Live. However I visit the news and sport website everyday. What I like about the BBC is that they do try to be balanced and look at both sides of an issue. They are good for covering national events also. Last edited by James; 21-01-2020 at 05:18 AM. |

It's literally the price of a one Latte a week, maybe payment should be collected in a different way though
