Regarding the police...they were called by the boyfriend and consequently attended the scene. Even though the boyfriend no longer wanted to proceed with charges, the police have to do their job. In some cases..in fact probably most cases the 'victim' of domestic violence is frightened to press charges. Probably not in this case but you can imagine how often that IS the case. If it was to have happened again it could have been more serious and the police would be held to blame...

Dan Wootton was actually a good friend of Caroline's, more of a friend of her than you or I, and he actually spoke up in defence for her when she was hung out to dry.
