Should be served a manslaughter sentence. Absolute scumbag, I was actually fuming when I heard about this on the radio.

Unfortunately there is no way to prove that the spitting incident was when Covid was contracted, so you can't really charge with more than assault.

they actually upgraded the spitting offence to a potential 2 year prison sentence when it was used in conjunction with the threat of covid - still nothing like a manslaughter offence though
