I'm not condoning what he has said, I haven't seen the tweets only heard what's been reported to have been said with some embellishments. However it begs the question is this response representative across the board on the subject of racist comments?

Jail for typing words on a screen is utterly ridiculous. The rest is basic "cancel culture". Plenty of people -celebs or otherwise- have lost jobs or platforms due to their big mouths.

As for loss of awards? Not entirely sure. At the back of my mind I feel like some rewards have been revoked? I don't know if it's par, people who tweet like that aren't usually award winners

i didn't see the content of the tweets, but if it was inciting violence then that's certainly a criminal offence. The rest of it is down to those that represent/employ him an gave him an award

I sometimes wonder if humans are just ****ing awful. I mean, there's mounting evidence. I'm not going to lie and pretend that historically, and in the west at least white people haven't done a lot of the horrible... but then, white people had the power to do so. Maybe humans are just generally despicable creatures and that comes out when we get a little power over others.

I'm not saying there aren't good people out there but as a group, we're honestly pretty grim.

...I’m not sure if that collectively, people are pretty grim...Obviously there are pretty grim people out there but I think intrinsically people are good...the problem is...(...and we’ve discussed it oh so meant times before...)...that once something is put out there, it’s out there forever and will be forever recalled...even if that person has had personal growth and no longer has a specific mindset..../...or whatever reason things were put out there...
