I remember when BLM first became a thing years ago and there was either a tweet or a Tumblr post that summed up ALM perfectly. It was something like 'Saying ALM in opposition to BLM is like going to someone's funeral and screaming at their friends and family that you too have suffered loss.

All Lives Matter in response to Black Lives Matter is essentially saying that Black Lives do not matter since the whole reason why BLM exists is because of the US police's violence towards black people. By saying All Lives Matter in response to that is to say you're happy with the status quo, that you're happy with the violence towards a specific minority because you lie to yourself by pretending that all lives matter while trying to quash a minority from saying that they matter too, not that only they matter, not that they matter more, just that they matter.
