She refused to move into the White House with him for the first few months, until she renegotiated her prenup, she’s not as dumb as she seems

If there's any justice in the world, the presidency will prove to be the end of that family's awful legacy. Trump is broke, everyone knows that he flouts the law freely and his game of basically continually getting into debt to pay for a lavish style has been exposed. If he manages to avoid justice, I doubt he'll enjoy the life he did previously.

Melania's a cold one but I can't blame her for wanting to get out of dodge.

He's worth over $2b, and owns all these Towers, Golf courses etc, he's not broke.

And i can't understand why anyone has any sympathy for Melania Trump, she married him for his money and power. Just like a million other women would do if she divorces him.

Don't care about him, just pointing out the obvious.

I'd assume that most of those places are leveraged in the endless loans he takes out. I'm pretty sure it's been said the only one that isn't, is Trump Tower. One thing we do know is that he is in severe debt, and it's a delicate balancing act that's kept things affloat.

I don't have sympathy for Melania, I just think the smart thing to do would be for her to get out before the ship sunks.

Sadly, wealthy people rarely lose their wealthy lifestyles no matter what; hidden assets, favours to call in, etc. so unless he goes to jail he will still live very comfortably. Perhaps not private jets and yachts but he's not going to be in the dole queue. We can still hope for the lunch hall queue . But I suspect he's going to make a deal.

I dunno how realistic a deal is, tbh. He's pigheaded and chances are, anyone he's likely to throw to the wolves will do so to him first, I think.

They should but doesn't mean they will lock him up unfortunately .
And between now and January I can only imagine what other mayhem and fuss he'll try and cause .

They really do, what he's doing at the moment is absolutely disgusting and really really dangerous. The world is already in trauma with this virus and there he is whipping his supporters into a frenzy, his ARMED supporters. He's naming people in the counting stations, he's putting those people in great danger of being attacked or worse. And if one of them gets shot, he won't give a ****, he won't feel guilty, it would feed that massive ego of his

I think it's highlighted some constitutional issues to be honest, enough that I can actually see the need for a 28th amendment concerning the transition of power when an incumbent 1st term president is running for a 2nd term, to limit what powers they have in the transitional period.

In my opinion, between election night and Jan 20th, the president's powers should be limited to legal challenges of the election itself and urgent national security matters. He shouldn't have been able to start firing people and making sweeping changes after the result started to become apparent.

It's one of the advantages of our system, the person that wins is in the next day. The concept of a peaceful transition only works if the incumbent is not a dick, and now it's happened once, the chances of it happening again are very high

Exactly, the whole system ran on tradition, etiquette and sportsmanship so as soon as you get someone who doesn't give a **** about those things it goes out the window.

Clinton last time round, despite people using her complaints as a "see she did it too!", is actually a fine example of how it's supposed to work. EVEN THOUGH she was upset at and skeptical about the result, and voiced concerns, could even be considered a "sore loser" with some of the claims... she still conceded the race as soon as the result became clear on election night.
