Trump already pardoned people who were in jail or facing jail who didn't spill the beans on him. They knew they would be pardoned if they kept quiet. As abuse of power goes, it's right up there with the best of them

i think once, the incoming president negated the pardons of the previous president, but the only reason he was able to do that was because all the relevant paperwork hadn't finished being submitted. So, that's why Trump is doing it the day before he leaves, as that gives time for the paperwork to be finalised

I definitely agree he groomed those guys and was a ****ty person but I don't think Travis committed suicide? Not on purpose anyway, looked like that was accidental

He did shoot himself in the head, by accident... he had taken the clip out of the gun and thought that the type of gun he was waving about didn't hold a round in the chambre... but it does... and to demonstrate that it was not loaded... he shot himself in the face with it . I swear it was only sheer luck of the draw for the other guy that he didn't point it at him and click the trigger instead

Yeah, he did have it pointed at the other guy first but he told him not to point it him and Travis said - look it's not loaded (or something similar) pointed it at himself and pulled the trigger

Oh, I remember the awful clip they showed of it, but can't remember the details. Even so, I'd still blame Joe Exotic for drugging him up to the point that he'd do something like that.

FDR pardoned over 2500 people.

It doesn't really matter that he's pardoned so few people when some of the people he has pardoned were the Blackwater mass murderers, found guilty of committing the Nisour Square Massacre, killing innocent men, women and children.

It doesn't really matter if someone pardons 2500 minor offences if another president basically approves of a massacre by letting the killers go free. Trump's pardons are the worst of any president's for that reason alone. It doesn't matter that he pardoned so 'few' people when the people he pardoned are not people on drug use charges or other minor charges, but actual murderers.

That's not even touching on the fact he's used pardons as rewards to people who refused to speak on his blatant corruption.

I don't think anyone of a reasonable mindset could make out that Trump's pardons are anything less than a complete outrage.
