I remember being told during sex ed by the other women there, it's better to change your dressings during each bathroom break, because as soon as air hits, the smell will be more palpable to others.

I don't understand the tea smell part, but if someone drinks tea with boatloads of sugar and isn't brushing their teeth after, it can feed any odor-causing bacteria and make your breath smell. Yeast loves sugar.
