It's just pain relief Ammi. Cocodamol. Quite a bit stronger than paracetamol. No, they didn't offer me any sort of review, in fact it's only August when I last had one and it was said to be fine. So why then have they waited for me to request it with my usual meds and outright refuse to supply thus leaving me with noth8ng for a month till I can have an appointment. It's.not very good is it?

…no, it really isn’t great for the GP to not speak to you and explain why the prescription is being withheld atm and why the long wait for an appointment…as Rusti has said, I would try phoning the 111 line to request an interim prescription for the painkillers…

Thank you!! It's shitty treatment. I will be making a complaint in the morning. I have no issues with reviews but it's the way.its been done that's really got my goat. I now have no suitable pain relief whatsoever as my supply ran out while I've been ill. I'll try and get some while I'm waiting.

Oh can you? I rang the chemist and asked that but she said no? Maybe she misunderstood.

You’re lucky you even have an appointment. Our local surgery’s open the lines at 8am for appointments and if you don’t get through you don’t get one and have to try again the next day.

We have that. You can book in for an appointment for 2 weeks time or try your luck for same day appt first thing in the morning. If you get lucky for same day appt the doctor will give you a call back first to run through symptoms etc to see if you need to actually come in.

My daughters chemist still takes phone requests repeats
They are situated between two doctors surgeries and issues about 2000 prescriptions every month

My dad got sent home with some serious pain relief it’s oral and had to be signed for as it’s a controled drug

We still get most of our stuff refilled electronically. We can text or call it into the pharmacist and the doctor either sends back a prescription or responds. They will get only a refill if going to see the doctor for regular follow ups. Scheduled drugs—drugs categorized for potential for abuse—cannot be signed electronically. They to be given in written and signed form by the doctor in person. Everything else can be prescribed electronically. That changed a number of years ago to try to address the rampant abuse of prescription medications and to discourage doctors from over prescribing.
