There was no reason for him to use the n-word, he could’ve easily simply said “n-word” and gotten the exact same point across. The weight of trauma embedded in the word itself is inherently triggering, in the same way the f-word is for me as a gay person. I don’t even like hearing other gay people use it in any circumstance. It’s a nasty, hateful word. Just because some have the privilege to feel they are able to reclaim it for themselves doesn’t mean all do. On the flip side, the way Bayleigh approached the conversation with her initial was also bluntly insensitive to JC.

The worst part was that the fish were down for like 30 minutes and then Bayleigh and JC were in the geometry room for another 30 more minutes hashing it out and the cameras weren't on them but we could pick up the audio when people went to the bathroom, and then after they sorted everything out Bayleigh went to bed and JC just stayed up clearly mad that he got called out for it He really does think he's invincible.

I kind of see both sides, he wasn't using it in a bad way he was just trying to compare the use of slurs in a way Bayleigh could understand but yeah at the end of the day he could've easily just said "the N word".
