all the parties are weak. They have thousands of things that they need to improve with no cash to do it. The tories and labour have committed to not raising taxes, so the only way they can meaningfully increase spending is through economic growth and that can't be significantly increased in 5 years. The simple way to do this is to tax the wealth of the richest people in the country, but those former tory donors now donating big wads to labour aren't doing it because they want to pay their fair share. So what will happen is what's happened for the last 14 years; cuts and more austerity.

Why normal everyday people fight for the mega wealthy to keep all their money is just a mystery.

This country used to provide so much. A welfare state that helped support some of the best bands ever produced, free education that provided our nurses, doctors and scientists. We've willingly let that money be stolen from us, in order that Billionaires and hundred-millionaires get to carry on growing their nest eggs at exponential rates.

I've been accused on here of hating England and the fact I'm English, but there is no more patriotic thing than to point out the flaws in a country capable of so much better.

I think Sunak wants the tories to be wiped out. To be honest, he would join Liz Truss in the hall of fame and probably then go off giggling to live in America

I guess it can be looked at a number of ways, but my belief is that Boris turned the tory party into ukip and that's why they are suffering now.
