I agree with the second bit, but the first bit easier said than done, when your young you often act different when your friends are around.

Doesn't have to be anything obvious that'll draw attention to himself. Just if their eyes meet he can make a face or raise his eyes. Anything to get in her good books.

If you think she hates you, what is there to lose? Grow some balls and tell her how you feel. She could just be putting on an act because she feels embarrassed, but you'll never know until you ask her. Approach her confidently, take her to one side, don't talk to her in front of anyone else or that will lead to more embarrassment on her behalf, and yours if she rejects you.
