What about it was dull and in forum terms how do you define dull?

I don't have a grudge against it all. I am on TIBB quite a lot. If I was a member of DS it would take up my life I bet I like to nosey on DS. To be honest I havn't noseyed all the way through it yet because it's so massive!! I would love to see more mature members from DS to come here. However at the same time some DS members can complain a lot and be bitter. Suppose some TIBB members can be like this too.

We just complain over different things.

On TIBB, negativity about the show makes you unpopular.

On DS, txt speak and the like makes you unpopular.

Same here. There are always members correcting other members grammar and pronunciation. "You have been educated".

I think a lot of TIBB members are just as intelligent as DS members. It's just more open and lenient here.

Trust me, not with nearly as pedantically as on DS, the grammar / liberal sprinkling of profanity in 80% of the posts in this thread and 90% of posts in some others would earn you a shunning on DS. Use a single slang term in a thread opening post and the whole thread will end up centring around the fact that you did so. A typo can see you ridiculed in some sections.

Didn't say they weren't (though with a membership that as I said made up of everyone from lawyers, to amateur astronomers, I would say DS has the edge over most forums in that respect, probably why it can come accross so uptight and pedantic when compared to the mostly college-age TIBB). As to TIBB being more leniant, again, this site is tiny in comparison to the DSBB let alone DS as a whole, and DS is run by a private company rather than an individual and some volunteers. The pressure on DS to be strict in the appliances of the site's terms is greater than the pressure on TIBB.

It's interesting that you appear to almost be a PR person for Digital Spy, yet feel the need to be on here too...

I don't hold a grudge, I just gave up creating new accounts because the place was a joke...

How many PR people openly and publically criticise the company they handle relations for?

I don't actually, I post on DS (or more specifically DSBB) far more than I do on here (few hundred posts a week sometimes as an insomniac), especially when the show is on. Except when there's something big to discuss such as the new C5 rumours, I'm only an occasional visitor here. I read here for the same reason I used to read on DS when I was a member of C4's forums, because I can.

You are hardly criticising DS though?! You seem to be defending them & sticking up for them despite their very obvious flaws...

I did follow the many many rules, but as you admitted yourself the Mods interpret these rules very differently, so something which may not actually break any rule can get you a ban from an over zealous Mod (which happened to me) then they refuse to open into any questioning of the reasons for the ban, which is what pi**ed me off with them... I had not recived any sort of ban for several months, then someone took offence to an extremely light hearted & jokey comment (which honestly was something as mundane as saying they were only saying such a thing because they fancied a particular person) & they saw that it possibly could break break rule number 7563 & hit the report button, I was then given a permanant ban! *******ing ridiculous.

I could easily sign up with an new account, but chose not to because the place is pathetic...

Last summer i decided i wanted to join a BB forum so i tried there first but like many others, they wouldn't accept my email address so i found here after... so glad i did aswell.

Wouldn't mind joining DS to try it out but it seems like too much hassle than it's worth and i'm very happy here.

It's all too easy on a site, obviously and undestandably biased toward one side of the argument to just spend the thread venting. A reasoned and fair debate in which both points of view are aired is much more preferrable.

DS rejected my sign up request anyway. I think its really snooty that they 'require' you to have a ISP e-mail address. I didn't even use a mainstream e-mail I account. I just think that particular rule is so stupid.

EVERYONE has an ISP e-mail address. Most ISPs provide you with 10.

Yes, your ISP, internet service provider.

Yeah but why should I have to go out of my way to phone up Virgin Media for a poxy e-mail address? Why isn't Hotmail or Gmail good enough?

You don't need to. Use the one your router uses to connect. Every ISP assigns you one automatically when you join them .

Because 1. they allow people to post anonymously without being accountable for their posts and account 2. they allow banned members to just sign up again. 3. spammers use them.

Ok I don't actually have an ISP e-mail address. My Dad does because he's the bill payer but I don't. Besides I didn't even use a mainstream account when I signed up before. I just think its silly to have rules like that. The mods used to and still manage on here when spam bot or a multiple account appears. :/
