The glitch not only gave customers a free bottle of milkshake but refunded £1.25 from the rest of their shopping bill for every milkshake they bought.
Thrilled consumers swapped news of the offer on the Hot UK Deals and Money Saving Expert forums.

Must have been from a Tesco Express then. Though I didn't use the self service checkout; they were listing it as 3 for the price of 1 on the shelf. Weird.

The article states it apparently affected Tesco Express.... so looks like you got the benefit of their computer glitch..... buy one, get two free - great result for you eh!!

another piece of 'useless info'.... Fairy Liquid bottles have changed sizes: they are now smaller than what they used to be, but price has not come down. Apparently the reason being is that the liquid is slightly more concentrated than it was before: and that is the justification for not bringing the price down..... but they dont' actually tell people it's more concentrated - so they will still use it and replenish it at the same rate.

ie: sort of the opposite of a placebo effect - if people don't know it's concentrated - they won't realise they don't have to use as much every time they wash dishes.
