Got to disagree. She's a drunken mess, with severe mental and emotional issues. As she was already known for before BB anyway. But to call her a bully is pathetic.
A bully uses superior strength (either physical or emotional) to intimidate or belittle those weaker than them. I didn't see the twins or Michael affected by her in any serious way at all. They held their own extremely well and showed how strong they are. That's not to say her behaviour was acceptable, it wasn't. But a bully? No. She's a mess. |

Even Michael, he told her where to go when she annoyed him, he took none of her crap. So, how exactly did she have control? To go as far as "bully" is a stretch. Last edited by Marsh.; 28-01-2012 at 01:37 AM. |

But anyone who thinks Denise has bullied anyone this series, needs to re-watch. Funny stuff this thread. |

I wouldn't call Denise a bully. Far from it. She seems quite nice in her own way. Overall, I think she's not a bad person at all.
But what I'm slightly dissapointed at, is that many of the public obviously see her behaviour as laudible. For many years us Irish have had the 'drunken' stereotype hanging over our heads. In recent years you Brits have joined us. And if modern TV is anything to go by, it seems niether nation is any closer to growing the f34k up. In this series you had Brits who misbehaved whilst under the influence. Americans who streneously objected to that behaviour. And it seems that the majority of the British and Irish public thought the American's over-reacted and were consequently less likelable than the boozed up 'jokers.' Denise is a nice woman. In many ways she is a far more caring and vulnerable person than the twins or Michael. I'm not surprised that people like her. But it saddens me that so many will re-enforce her thinking that the coolest way to get down with the kids and enjoy oneself, is to drink excessively, undress yourself and others, and condone sexual harrassment as something which is funny. Just be yourself Denise. There's no need to get down with the kids. You're 53 - there's nothing wrong with being 53. |

Not a bully, just a mess... My only solace tonight was the knowledge that despite winning she will still be a sad depressed mess of a human being devoid of any joy and paralysed by her own insatiable need to be loved.
Cruel maybe, but it made me smile

UK celebs are treated with a more even hand and opinions fluctuate more readily. Once a US celeb puts a foot wrong, they could invent a cure for aids and people would still boo them. Last edited by RodHull; 28-01-2012 at 03:03 AM. |

For example, I think everyone felt they already knew Katona when she entered last year but someone like Michael Madsen is a blank canvass so people take things at face value with him and judge. Whereas they'll use past experience of Katona as well as what she does in the house to judge her more "fairly". But, I think the main reason is that Americans do play the game completely differently. The twins and Tara came in brilliantly with their "game heads" ready to fight dirty to win. Which is really the point of Big Brother USA but ours is more a popularity contest than a game so that's where the lines blur and they'll never win because they don't remember they've also got to win favour with the viewing public who holds the final decision. I would say don't rely too much on the official facebook page, as these are mostly 13 yo only just discovering BB in recent years and spewing venom that they don't even understand. This makes up about 80% of the online world, throwing insults that they don't even know they're talking about.
It's like racists in general, if they feel the need to use nationality or skin colour as a means of ridiculing you then you can feel solace in the fact that they couldn't actually find anything about you as a person to actually comment negatively on within any reason. It's like when you get musicians getting abuse purely because they are "rivals" to their favourite musician (Gaga fans jump into my head instantly, not all of them). But, again, this makes up a very small but vocal minority. |

On a serious note this is a woman who has attempted suicide as a result of alcoholism and yet she is now voted as winner by the public for behaving like a sad drunk.

The bullying and intimidation that this woman oosed was disgusting. Seriously. Anyone that wanted her to win need a nice visit to the mental institution.
