What the hell is going on... Seriously Bill Roache, Rolf Harris , Max Clifford, Freddie Star and many others... They can't all be rapists and sexual molesters something is very wrong with this whole situation. People's lives and reputations are going down the toilet because anonymous people are making claims that these men assaulted or raped them up to 45 years ago...!!!!!

This is crazy surely they can't all be guilty of these sorts of crimes. I think clear heads and sensible thinking is needed to look at this worrying series of events. I for one think this whole situation has got out of hand and quite frankly is starting to look absurd.

No I think it is strange too, you always have adulation of celebrities and I would guess it is something that can be taken advantage of.
It is said,that in Bill Roach's case, it is a case of 2 rapes against the same individual,now call me a cynic but I do feel the question needs to be asked, how twice with the same person and nothing said until now.

If I had been a girl or boy in the 60s and someone raped me,I would have for sure made sure it wasn't going to be even possible for it to happen again,even if I was going to say nothing at all at the time,I would ensure I was never in that situation again where it could.

I just don't know, the 60s was an odd time it seems and access to celebrities a lot easier it seems too.
I agree with you, it does seem crazy and really it leaves you asking more questions from every answer you think you may have come up with.

I don't know what evidence they can possibly have other than the verbal accusations and possible dates and times,however if I was on a jury, that likely wouldn't be enough for me to find someone who was pleading not guilty to be guilty after so long.

I cannot see many convictions coming from this really but then we haven't seen whatever evidence there is, of what there possibly can be after this long.

No, you're not, and with these all being historical charges, there's not much evidence one way or the other, its all one persons word against anothers.

I was thinking that but are we sure that these people are only coming forward now? When the Jimmy Saville stuff came out the Police said they were launching investigations, I wonder have they, because of the Jimmy Saville revelations gone back over allegations made but not properly followed up regarding celebrities? That would make more sense to me than a whole host of women suddenly coming forward 30-40 years on

as many posters state, this should all be done private. as far as im concerned everyone should be anonymous until it gets to court. this bias in law where every accuser is anonymous and every accused is named and shamed is ridiculously unfair. keep them both anonymous for as long as possible. if the evidence is there, then name the accused.

Has anyone read Broken by Shy Keenan. Tough read but she didn't get her step dad convicted until he was in his 80's and she was in her late 30's. When she was young nobody believed her, teachers, social workers, care homes all passed the buck. Can't be easy to follow something like this through years later, and it would take a very sick person in my view to make a complaint after so many years have passed without some thing to back it up. It would be much easier to jump on the Jimmy Saville bandwagon if you weren't being truthful surely?

My prediction is that he cannot escape a custodial sentence so he will probably get 2 years with one year suspended.... So could only serve 6 Months inside( probably in solitary confinement ).
