Because it won so many awards and was lauded at the time of release I'm going for The Piano. Its not the worst film I've ever seen but definitely the most overrated.

Also, Dead Poets Society is wildly overrated.

No, it was about a couple who get stranded in the ocean after getting separated from their scuba diving group, it's just them floating in the water for 2 hours or however long the film was (felt like days long)
