I dont think the council will do anything if it just a few barks here & there during the day, after all its the only way a dog can communicate. Your diary will show that it is not constant barking during the day & night.
They may say the 6.45 barking even for a min or two is anti social, thats if they are been very picky!
Is there a way you can record them when you are out for a week or so? This will show you if it is more than you think or prove that it is very little if at all.

hi ellen, yes I can set up my camcorder to tape them when I do go out, which even if im out then peter is normally in. there might be the odd 2 hours here or there but thanks that's a good idea. Im going to Scotland next thurs so will prob wait till after that.

Whoever has complained sounds a right twat if its only a few minutes at a time. If it was constant I could totally understand it. The dog next door barks a lot, and I can hear it as if its in my living room tbh, even when its in the house...but I'm a reasonable person and realise that sometimes...dogs bark Not too sure I would be as reasonable if it was 24/7 though.

If I'm gardening and it's dangerous for duke (my lab) to be out he cries his eyes out! surprised someone hasn't reported me
