But why do they specifically need that scene? Can't they just end it on a shot of them all sitting together in the Diary Room, or having fun in the garden, or do what they used to do and have those creepy disembodied voice quotes from housemates long passed (RIP Saira, we hardly knew ye)? It just smacks of them planning what they're going to air before they've even filmed it

Well I'm not a producer, but if they decided that's what they want to end on its what they want to end on. I'm sure if a natural argument explodes after they'll show the argument then put the last scene in at the end. Not like they need the scene, but it's what they usual end on so they've done it in 2 minutes instead of hanging around til 2am waiting for everyone to go to bed, then waking the sleeping housemates to say goodnight. Not necessary, but that's what there doing.

They shouldn't need them to go to bed at the same time. They only do because they have a hard on for cringey montages that aren't needed or wanted.

Maybe so, but it still highlights what is so wrong about what this show has become.

The nomination tampering, the possibility that it can be scripted in this sort of way, the changing the rules of voting after 23 hours of lines being open (Marnie/Chloe Bottom 2).

It is amazing to me how people continue to defend the producers of this show when it has so completely urinated over its long standing and well liked format.

Because it's not a huge issue and the 'fixed' accusations are annoying. Yes, the show has been selective in its editing towards Bear and shady with the edits sometimes, but nothing new. That's more of a cock up than this. It's funny to see it play out, but it doesn't bother me like it has some on here.
