What awareness are they raising ? Why do they feel they are so special that they will change anyones minds on things ,I find it very arrogant to think you are that special

If a white women went in preaching about white culture this place would be in meltdown calling her a racist ...Double standards

Um because BAME people are severely underrepresented in the media and white people have been running and oppressing things for centuries.

Not much at all is known about the Nigerian culture here, thats why it would have no effect if some white woman entered the house preaching about culture, the majority of us already know our own culture and as do the rest of Brits that are subjected to it everyday. Therefore her being on the show can promote the nigerian culture, its not at all double standards. Often people in the majority can fail to see what its like for minorities because they have it so great.

But they clearly aren't or haven't said they're representing ''Black'' culture have they ?
If a white British woman went into BB Africa saying they wanted to represent British culture then nobody would have a problem with it. Except maybe yourself if you were all out of other things to gripe about.

Exactly. If I went on BB (I would never but you know ) I would think i was representing Irish culture not "white" culture. I honestly don't think there is really such a thing as white culture anyway

oh come on, the girls have been highlighting that they are different rather than integrating at every turn. Fine if you want to stand out and get noticed - fair enough, but they have been doing it primarily to chastise others unjustifiably and somehow win an argument on false grounds.

Its not the same as saying you are from Ireland

Stop speaking for other people, other people may be interested having watched them, those are the audience Deborah is interested in. Also other people from nigerian heritage seeing someone similar to them on mainstream TV is good for them also, having someone to relate to on TV can be a good thing. I'm sure loads of people are interested and have liked the exposure from the TV show, so what if two contestant on Big Brothers 18th season are finally from Nigerian heritage, it's hardly 'rammed down necks' and its very rare on TV, having all white people on every season of Big Brother with exactly the same background can be boring to a lot of viewers, it's nice to have change/variety on different seasons imo.

It's no different for the audience asking for older housemates and them sticking in one older housemate. Except there is no outcry of viewers complaining about them sticking in an older housemate and 'ramming down old people down our throats' each year because that is utterly ridiculous as is this 'ramming down' nigerian culture. It's under exposed if anything.

If you were going into a Big Brother in a Country that was as far away from Ireland as Nigeria is from England then it would be exactly the same principal.

You know thinking about it I'm genuinely surprised there hasn't been a lot more people from other countries in BB, it distinctly lacks other nationalities and yet the UK itself is full of every nationality.

They used to at least try to get a more diverse range of ethnicities in the house back in Channel 4 days but, as with most things BB, C5 have screwed that up too sadly!

God forbid a Nigerian woman talks about her culture on TV. The skies will be falling in any minute.
