I thought the idea of CBB was to strip the celebs of all that made them tick outside the house and find out what the real person was underneath, From my recollection over all the years, that's the way its been. They may do the odd 5 minute ... this is what 'm famous for segment, but that's about it. To my knowledge, Shane is the first to be allowed to be the performer that he is in the outside world, which is a distinct advantage over everyone else as it was his proficiency in that, that landed him his place in the house. It doesn't seem right to me

That's why at the beginning you saw Shane really trying to plan out his Courtney days, but then seem to slightly forget about it in the middle, and now he's back to making sure Courtney makes it on the show since there are only a few days left.

Over in the states, her friend Alaska was on this 'Scared Famous' show not too long ago, and I know she had to be in drag just about everyday that they filmed. She even had to show up late, halfway through the first episode, because Alaska came as Justin and they made her get ready first

I posted this in Chuff's thread, but I really wouldn't be surprised if channel five give her a lower fee for days that Shane makes it on the show and Courtney doesn't. Why pay a star, when they aren't being their 'starself.' They probably had things like launch part2, evictions, and the finale predetermined as events that Courtney had to show up for. Seeing as Courtney's the 'real celebrity' and Shane is relatively unknown

I really don't agree with this at all ,and Shane is hardly a star, Ive never heard of him before and neither have lots of others in here and Facebook,he's a z lister

That's exactly what I said. I know C5 have had a lax definition of the word celebrity since they took over CBB. The celebs they get, usually aren't that well known. That's why I wouldn't be surprised if C5 and their contract negotiators worked out a deal with Shane to make sure that Courtney made it on the show as much as possible. Ultimately, that's what he's known for, Courtney is basically the only reason he's a celeb. I doubt he could've just gone in there as Shane and been Shane in boy clothes the whole way through the series without putting Courtney on once. The producers wouldn't allow it as Shane isn't a star and there really wouldn't be a point in it.

But for a lot of young people that grow up in countries which are a lot less accepting than the countries that you or I grew up in, Drag Race badly dubbed over into their native language is often times the only way for them to see a representation of themselves being celebrated. That's why a lot of his fans get pretty passionate about Rugirls, and definitely why I wouldn't call him a z lister. A lot of people from different walks of life really care about him. Not gonna lie though, his mention of 'research' at the beginning did kinda turn me off though
