I really don't care. There are rules and laws. If he was causing a nuisance, just like anyone else he should've been removed.

Let's not hold up a whole plane full of people, plus cost the airline money by missing their take off slot and cause a knock-on delay as air traffic control tries to reorganise them, then have him taken off by Spanish police and thrown in the pokey... because some silly old sod called a black woman a black woman. I mean, he said "don't talk to me in a foreign language!" He was a British man returning from Spain. Most people he met would have been talking in a foreign language. The man is obviously an idiot and shamed himself, plenty of people berated him for it. And so they should. But let's keep a little perspective.
I'm sure some compensation will help this woman get over it. |

Well he was causing a nuisance and harassing another passenger. That's usually enough cause to have you removed from a flight.
People have been removed for less. |

Let's never give anyone the benefit of the doubt if it's a racist incident.

Yes there is, and he was racist, there's no doubt about that. He's a 77 year old living in sheltered accommodation. So there's no chance he might be a little, you know... tapped? Because to me, he sounds mental. Also the cabin crew have been criticised constantly when it would have been the Captain's decision whether a daft old bugger making a racist comment to another passenger was worth holding up everyone for hours.
I think about all the ways people suffer because of their race... and this incident is news all over the world. I hope the woman and her daughter get some compo to make the whole ridiculous circus worthwhile. |

I don't think he deserves sympathy for his actions - but there's no point in wasting hours of everyone's time because an old git said some words.

Recently widowed elderly black woman is verbally and physically attacked by a racist: only 2 people stand up for her and the cabin crew panders to the attacker... well then... I wish I could say I'm shocked but I'm really not.

This man is awful and a twat and ryanair handled this badly by moving her instead of him or not throwing him off the plane...other people have been chucked off the plane for arguing but not him? Wouldn’t surprise me if ryanair charged her for moving seats.

the staff did not hear any racism so could not do that. The incident is not with Essex police so justice will now occur

Also people bending over backwards to explain his behaviour have you considered that there are still racist people in Britain? You know like black people have been saying for a while now.

It's not only black people who are subjected to this kind of sh1t, but really, you have to keep some perspective. No one seems willing to think the old nutter on the aeroplane is anything other than a vile racist, when he probably just hates everyone. |

The fact he's angry at the whole world doesn't make an iota of difference as this specific incident was his abuse of that woman. |

I'm sure that old guy probably hate a lot of different types of people and is probably every phonic you can imagine... however in this instance he attacked this woman because of her race and the staff seemed to care more about keeping him happy than protecting the woman... I just find getting into the hypothetical mental issues this man may have to be an attempt to shift responsibly from him and takes the victimhood from the woman making the incident seem like 'just one of those things'.... to me its kind of like when the media try to get into the tough upbringing and school life of someone who's just committed something terrible like a terrorist attack or a school shooting...
