The police will always investigate all angles and do not just take peoples word for things - they have to use evidence to save court time and innocent lives being ruined

There's a difference between waiting and seeing what the investigation serves up and outright doubting the victim based on nothing, that is what some people are doing in this thread.

The man was hospitalised, he has been injured so that in itself is proof that something happened, there's no evidence that he had made it up like some people are hinting at in this thread but there's definite evidence that he was attacked.

No evidence of who attacked him yet though, only his word. Nobody is doubting him, we're just waiting for the facts. We've just had a MP in the UK sent to prison for lying to the authorities about what happened, so it is possible to happen.

Us on the forum is not where you're anger should be aimed, we've done nothing but comment on the facts we currently have.

I think the doubt lies with whether this was actually a hate crime. I personally think it was, since racism and homophobia is embedded in American culture/society. However, that's still a presumption and none of us could bet our lives that this story is 100% true yet.

I don't think anyone has called him an outright liar. The media, by which I suspect all of us discovered this story, have used words like "suspected" and "allegedly" because there are aspects of the story that none of us can confirm are true. We base our assumptions on whether we believe Jussie.

While I agree some of the responses on here are strange considering the severity of this attack, nobody has referred to him as liar or questioned whether he was actually attacked.

When someone is attacked and all someone has to say is “Only his word for it” then that person may as well have just said that they think he’s lying, if he didn’t believe it then why make such a stupid comment other than trying to be a smart arse
