While I agree some of the responses on here are strange considering the severity of this attack, nobody has referred to him as liar or questioned whether he was actually attacked.

When someone is attacked and all someone has to say is “Only his word for it” then that person may as well have just said that they think he’s lying, if he didn’t believe it then why make such a stupid comment other than trying to be a smart arse

That isn't all that was said, though. You're taking one sentence from a whole post, which doesn't even refer to the context of him being assaulted. This is a multi-faceted story. There's nothing stupid or smart arse-like about questioning presumptions that none of us can prove are correct or incorrect. Just saying. I'm on your side in terms of choosing to believe the story, but if you're on a public forum you have to accept some people won't agree with you.
