I think we should have a thread where we can contest our infractions. As a prospective mod (my goal is to be a mod by Christmas this year!) I simply CANNOT have any infractions, it ruins my CV AND reference! Consequently I need them removed ASAP!

It isn't civilised at all Alf because we did have an appeals section at one point which we had to close because of how uncivilised people would become in there

Plus the exact same abuse goes on in PMs to staff currently. So this shows that the same issues would be there if the appeals forum as reopened.

Making infractions public isn't a good idea, and people would soon complain. Often an infracted post is part of a series of deleted posts, so the rest of the forum wouldn't be able to understand the context.
The appeals forum was more trouble than it was worth. It just encouraged complaints and people rarely admitted they'd done something wrong. |

There would be uproar if there was a public thread and people could see some of the petty stuff people get infracted for.
