They don't abandon close, well maintained family relationships for no reason. They might sometimes abandon relationships with people who (wrongly) assume that family relationships are guaranteed and therefore low-maintenance. Those are the people who are "shocked" when the relationships break down, because they didn't do anything "wrong", while failing to factor in that they also didn't do anything "right". They just assumed all was well.

Again... Yes, they sometimes do. There were 2 daughters... One totally cut off her father and broke his heart. The other has stuck by her Dad through thick and thin and had it not been for her, he'd be dead now. People come in all guises, both girls were teenagers.

But I can see this is just another subject where you see you as right and me as wrong so I'll leave it there.

Also Brad Pitt is a recovering alcoholic(from his own mouth), the plane incident story involved a drunken Brad Pitt, it makes a lot more sense that those kids had an alcoholic father who became verbally abusive while drunk than they're just lying about how awful he was when really he was a great dad because their mom told them too. I'm not sure it's even possible to maintain an honest and healthy relationship with an alcoholic

I didn't say she had....I said that whatever has gone on, no-one but those directly involved will know. It's a sad state of affairs when any relationship breaks down but moreso when a child is failed by a parent (whichever parent it may be)
