I do fundamentally disagree with this notion though; it's nonsense that's peddled as something that happens "commonly" when it is NOT common even with young kids, and also not EASY with older kids, and it's trotted out constantly by abusers. Shouldn't even be given the time of day as a suggestion unless there is clear, direct evidence of manipulation or lies.
If an older child or young adult says they have their reasons, they have their reasons, and those reasons are not "mum says he's a bad man". Misogynistic claptrap. |

Yeah, these kids were teenagers when they separated, if they had a good relationship with their dad, they're not going to lie and sabotage that because their mother told them to. Why would they?

Again... Yes, they sometimes do. There were 2 daughters... One totally cut off her father and broke his heart. The other has stuck by her Dad through thick and thin and had it not been for her, he'd be dead now. People come in all guises, both girls were teenagers. But I can see this is just another subject where you see you as right and me as wrong so I'll leave it there. |

Also Brad Pitt is a recovering alcoholic(from his own mouth), the plane incident story involved a drunken Brad Pitt, it makes a lot more sense that those kids had an alcoholic father who became verbally abusive while drunk than they're just lying about how awful he was when really he was a great dad because their mom told them too. I'm not sure it's even possible to maintain an honest and healthy relationship with an alcoholic

What a lovely thing to do to a fragile man with mental health and dependency issues
turn the kids against him and make them change their names callous |

It's not as if this stuff doesn't happen and every mother is a saint and would never turn the kids against their father. Look how many men fight to see their kids and the mother won't let them.

It was inevitable that Jolie would alienate the children against their own nice
father. She hated her own father, Jon Voight, and legally changed her surname to drop his. As Americans say, Ms Jolie has "issues". Just like Markle and Heard unhinged with hate |

She doesn't speak to her father because he was barely in her life growing up, her mother raised her singlehandedly, maybe this story of yours is saying more about these American men than American women

She must be a master manipulator to convince so many people. The hoops people will jump to make it the woman's fault

Just looking it up there, he was originally awarded joint custody but upon review it was visitation with a therapist present, the courts obviously found there to be truth in what the kids say I should imagine

"Enter Angelina, who came with a wild image (kissing her brother on the lips at
the Oscars, reportedly wearing a vial of her partner’s blood around her neck, ![]() etc) and described herself as having had a ‘dark and dangerous’ youth. She was twice divorced when she met Brad — having been hitched first to British actor Jonny Lee Miller, of Trainspotting fame, and then Billy Bob Thornton, aka Bad Santa and the sleazy American President from Love Actually. During her marriage to Billy Bob, the couple adopted a child, Maddox, from Cambodia in March 2002, but abruptly separated three months later." https://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle...d%20drug%20use. |
