LOL but it's no big deal, yet because what they're related to, it's turned into one, when they're legal, cheap and give you a quick, good rush. And Tom, you know I was joking ^^. ![]() |

But whether or not straight people do use them, there is still a massive stigma attached to people using poppers.

![]() There is also a massive trend between clothes people wear and sexuality ... if you can't pick gay people out by what they are wearing then you need to readjust your gaydar. Thats not to say that all straight people wear this and all gay people wear that, but normally you can tell by what people wear. |

Using it as evidence for someones sexuality is ridiculous! Everyone is different, the only thing that would make Dale gay would be being attracted to men, it has nothing to do with all the other stereotypical crap. Picking up on the fact that he is seen sniffing poppers outside a club and linking it to his sexuality is kind of silly! We were just pointing out that many straight people take them. |

There are always reasons for stereotypes, and there are always reason to look past them. Let's leave it at that, eh?

![]() You do realise stereotypes have been built mentally for a reason? Its because generally, thats what happens. Its similar to saying only people on benefits and tramps live on council estates. Now by making a generalisation, that is true but of course its not true in the sense that there are exceptions, but not many exceptions. Its the same principle which applies. So yeah, some straight people also do poppers- but mainly straight females. Of course some straight males will do but probably nowhere near enough to override the stereotype. |

You can choose to follow them if you want, I just think it makes you look a little closed minded because you are assuming something about someone that could be incorrect and at times hurtful. Much better to not assume anything and judge everyone on an individual basis, after you've got to know them- not based around silly things like what they watch on tv, whether they do poppers or not, clothes they wear etc... |

Tom, you stated that he may be bi for using poppers because of a stereotype and a generalistion, so that's why I said more fool you for not looking past them. I'm not trying to say that because some straight people use them then that overides the stereotype [that's not even the point, I'm not trying to say it should as I don't pay attention to stereotypes because in a lot of cases, it's just stereotypical bullshit which you're proving], that weren't my point, my point was that it's a pathetic thing to base somebody's sexuality on ... the fact they use poppers when it's obvious he was fully clothed in a nightclub and not about to bend over on a bed ... Plus, you said earlier they weren't used for a head rush, and you didn't know straight people to use them ... now you do know that straight people use them but it's mainly females ... but I thought they only had one purpose? ![]() |

And the point you are missing is that I said he might be bi, not that he is. Massive difference. Its an association so obviously I'm inclined to believe that but I didn't come to the conclusion that he was because he uses them. And I still hold my belief on stereotypes. Mental images of stereotypes have been built up for a reason, not because someone woke up one day and thought it would be a good association. |

Dale's myspace states him as straight, and he said himself he likes women; that's pretty conclusive evidence.
![]() Yes he uses/used poppers, and yes they are more associated with the gay community. I can see where Tom is coming from, and if it wasn't clearly stated from Dale himself that he is straight then his sexuality would be more questionable in my opinion because of that fact. However being a DJ, he is surrounded by recreational drugs and the like so it's obvious it's there's nothing more to it. |
