..I thought..(hoped)..that the Jim Davidson discussions were a thing of the past but I think when someone does dislike a housemate or person in general they're likely to be biased about them and if they do like a housemate/person then they're likely do defend them and show more understanding and I think that's true of everyone and perfectly natural...

and no, Jim has NOT changed. homophobic in the 1970s, and 40 years later still making extremely homophobic comments. the benefit of the doubt cannot clearly be given to him, but it can however be given to helen who hasn't shown herself to still be a prostitute that sleeps with married men. in fact she's done pretty much the opposite by condemning that kind of behaviour with her words to kim.

It's gonna happen with people who've been in the lime light.I don't think you can change that tbh.I'm not against prostitution but she knew she'd been in the papers for it before she went in BB,Her choice to go in there.Alot of people find prostitution controversial so it was bound to be brought up and used against her.She's made her choices in life(including going in BB) she's gotta live with them.

I said it's perfectly fine for people to hate Helen if they thinks she's vindictive, which is what the majority of Helen bashers in here are saying. Simply disputing the idea that Helen's in no position to give her stance on what Kimberley did because she used to be a prostitute.

..I don't think Salman has 'lost the argument' at all, he's put his point and thoughts over very well in the OP and it may not be a popular opinion but it's extremely well thought out and I totally see his reasons for the thread..there is no 'win' or 'lose'..there is just different perspectives of Helen and her past ..if what she did/does helped mould her into the person we now see in the house then it can be equally looked at that it's made her a defensive person who comes across as quite 'hard' and harsh and if anyone shows an empathy with that, then it's entirely up to them and not wrong...

what do you know about her life? her vindictive behaviour could be down to A LOT of things. bit illogical to assume she was such a lovely person for the first 20 odd years of her life but suddenly had a complete personality overhaul after a bit of prostitution. and even if that was the cause for her nastiness, it doesn't take away her moral authority to give advice to kimberley. she hasn't been sexually loose in the house

I know about as much about her life as you, therefore I accept your bias is as valid as mine. The difference however, is that she continues to be a nasty individual. It's clear experiences in her past have helped determine who she is at present. There's no argument about that (I hope??)

I dislike Helen because she's a twat, and if she interested me, I'd like her, but I don't really care for her.

Saying that, I'd take her over at least 80% of the other housemates.
