Something doesn't sit right seeing 'Celebrity News' in the subforum title of a thread about a plane crash.

One may ask why anyone would think a thread about pointless celebs would even be considered worthy of a mention?

If its not an active subsection why on Gods earth not just bin it?

Why pair it with a popular section that kind of keeps the forum alive?

One can only guess..

To be fair, it was already confirmed that whoever is making the decisions has become dangerously unbalanced when they signed off on the idea to make mods look like normal users, whilst retaining mod abilities. Barmy. This is just the next phase. I for one am quite excited about what's coming next

Yeah, I might get rid of others too.

The current title of the forum might just be temporary - just to show where the celebrity-news-type topics go now.

Those type of threads make it difficult to get - and keep - advertising, which pays for the site.

The Celebrity News forum was mainly being used for reporting celebrity deaths, and those can go in the SD&N forum. If people want to post celebrity nonsense in this forum - well it's all part of the news agenda - just look at any newspaper or news site.

But there didn't seem to be much interest in those type of threads in the Celebrity News forum.

"Guys there's been a lot of behind the scenes cliques and gossip over the years, so what we're gonna do, is make a subforum where everyone's PM's since the very beginning of the forum will be open to the public for viewing and discussion. Any fighting in threads will see immediate bans! "

If staff are looking for sensible merger ideas, though...

Given current traffic of each forum, there's no need for soaps to be separate from general TV chat, and in fact, the entire TV subforum could quite easily be annexed by Tech, Movies and Games (becoming Tech, Movies, TV and Games). At the very least, if keeping two separate forums, "Tech & Games" + "Movies & TV" would make much more sense. Just sayin.

Soaps forum is actually quite busy - so that is not on the hit-list.

I don't agree TV should be combined with Movies and Games.

But the gamers want our own cave away from the pedestrian eyes of simple passive moviegoers

Don’t come for the soaps forum!

You’ve harmed your Most Loved campaign with this

Seeing a thread on Stephanie and Hollyoaks in amongst serious debates just doesn't do it for me

Could be done, but as far as I know, we'd have to keep ads off those pages.

A forum I used to be on had an ad free unmoderated / uncensored "subscription" subforum that you could get into for £3 a Month... It was absolute chaos . Just outright warfare and filth.

But I can't see many people on here being up for that ... Cheapskates.

Though you could also anonymously pay for subs for other members, so maybe if we have a rich and pervy benefactor .

OR you could have porn ads all over it and only add people who are definitely over 18.

How could we do that? Besides asking people to send in a scan of their passports or something

Or a photo with their username on I guess for those who are clearly over 18. I think we had issuers at one stage with someone creating a convincing Photoshop of this kind of thing though

As for the change, I disagree with it tbh but meh. Would have much preferred celeb + news, then serious debates separate. But it seems getting SD separated off is definitely not going to happen.
