It's like Canadians hating being mistaken for American, New Zealanders hating being mistaken for Aussie's and there's a whole lot of history and bad blood between the British and Irish, maybe she has stories from her background that none of us know. Im welsh and people allways think im from newcastle which can get quite annoying but i wouldnt snap at someone or jump down someones throat for mistaking my accent. Especially when they are from the other side of the world.

The way she said it has given me reason to feel like this.

This is my opinion and how i felt so put your mob torches away and accept that she snapped and did jump down a man who asked a genuine questions throat.

And yeah i understand that the british used to be a bunch of c u n t s and raped the world but move on theres no point holding a grudge!

She didnt say there was anything wrong with the british though! She just said she's not british because ROI is a country in it's own right, which is totally correct and okay for her to say. Okay she may have snapped a little bit but like I said before maybe she has a back story (like a lot of Irish do) that we dont know about, I think you really need to let it go tbh. No. Not fact. You cannot use the words 'seemed' and 'fact' in the same sentence. 'Seemed' indicates a subjective view of an ambiguous comment. 'Fact' means yeah ... she definately is offended to be called British,

The dialogue speaks for itself. She said she hates being called British. She did not say she hates the British.

And all I'm saying that if I was Irish and I got called British, or if I was Canadian and got called American or if I was from New Zealand and got called an Aussie, I would potentially be offended too.
