Do we think it's a coincidence that in the countries where people have been admitted en masse, without any consultation with the public, the far Right are on the rise. I see what you mean - islamic culture is completely contrary to our own, and admitting millions of people from said culture isn't the best idea. Unfortunately, the only voices in politics talking about this are far right, so this gives them support from otherwise moderate people.

Yes, that's been my feeling all along. Any time there's any kind of discussion about immigrants, anyone who doesn't want an open door policy is a bigot and a racist, and that's an end to it. No discussion, working class people's areas are transformed, businesses close, pubs shut, mosques open and suddenly you're a stranger in your own land. And if you haven't experienced that, well... you have no idea.

I'm not against immigration and I'm certainly not against letting in genuine refugees... but they need to be less condensed. People say, well, obviously they're going to want to live with their own people. And that's fine. Unless they're white English.... and then it's racist.

I don't think the right is on the rise here, that I've noticed anyway, Polish are the highest non Irish nationality here and they slotted in very easily

There are loads of Poles in my area and they're really hard working. Also, they tend to make friends in the wider community as well as in their own.

Yes and I think that really makes a difference actually, the fact that they do integrate with the locals a lot.

A lot of Poles work with my husband ,he says they are really hard workers and all of them get on with the English workers, we have 2 families of Poles near us, they are constantly cleaning, gardening and also say good morning or good afternoon ,I have no problem with them at all

Incorrect...People working full time are getting nothing, being made to sit on council housing lists for 10 years plus (even when prepared to pay full rent), all the while their tax money is paying to house the above.

It's more to do with the fact that these people don't like diversity or progress and they want to turn the clock back. Immigration is just the excuse. There was a film I watched recently, can't remember the name of it but it was about the financial crisis and at the end one of the characters spoke about how he feared that the poor and immigration would end up being blamed for it all and the film ended not long after with a few written sentences detailing what happened next and at first they were like 'Banks were held accountable for their screwups and were dissolved for it, PSYCH! We blamed poor people and immigration instead!'. Same thing is happening again and will always happen.

The US doesn't have an issue with immigration, they have an issue with brown immigrants. Trump isn't making out that white European immigrants are the problem, he's not said a word about it. Immigration, as ever, is just the excuse.

Some Poles are fairly regular in my mum's bookies, and they're basically more British than half my mates haha - they run a business (builders), they're part of the community, they even play bloody cricket! There are two or three nuclear families who are all one family (if that makes sense), and you can tell which houses are theirs because they're the nicest and best kept on their streets
