So a lot of the soldiers being sent into Ukraine to kill or be killed didn't even make that decision to be a career soldier and won't want to be there at all. That's how it's coming across too to be honest. I was worried that Russian soldiers would be terminator type characters. But they are coming across as anything but, I hope that is taken into account by the Ukrainians. 4000 dead is a lot, sorry to go all bleeding heart but you get the impression they don't want to be there and are being sent and killed as 'the enemy' regardless.

On the subject of foreigners in wars, hasn't anyone heard of the International Brigade? Google how many nationalities were involved in the Battle of Britain. Some Americans, Canadians and Aussies were here fighting for us as soon as WW2 kicked off and a couple of years before the USA joined in. I have no doubt that there are ex-service personnel making their way to Ukraine right now, and some are there already. It happens every time there is a conflict and it always has.

Yeah like I said, call me a cynic but I find it hard to believe that any action that's been taken in Switzerland is political or moral ... it'll purely be money-related.

Regardless, because of how Switzerland works, it's unlikely that it's even a government/federal decision "by the country", sort of the whole point of Switzerland and what they thrive on, is that they don't do things like that.

The weight of public opinion influenced our government at the time, in subsequent years there has been a campaign to counter that and it's working so well that even the decendants if refugees subcribe to the propaganda.
