I'm so fed up of seeing this crap on here. These people are human beings with real feelings and are just characters on a television show you watch for a grand total of 50 odd hours a series across two months - that's just over two days worth of highlights. You do not know them. This is just television. And it doesn't give you the right to insult the way people look or how good or bad their parenting may be.

The housemates put themselves up to be judged as housemates within the confines of a glorified television set. That entails, you know...how good or bad they are as housemates. Not how attractive or ugly they are. Not how good or bad they are as parents, or friends or family members in the real world.

It's all so unnecessary and sours the forum year in, year out. I feel like I'm in a ****ing playground reading some of the posts on here sometimes. Either step away from the TV and get back into the real world or just give it a rest, some of us are fed up with seeing it...and I especially am baffled as to why it's permitted in the rules?
Indeed. These playground insults then the attempts to justify it too are ****ing pathetic. I don't know if I forget how awful it usually is, or if it actually has been worse than ever this year, but the forum this year has sickened me at a fair few points. The sheer amount of people involved in being childish twats with no filter this year has made it nearly impossibly to moderate also, as if I banned everyone who is being/has been a dick then we would have about 20 members left on here right now.

I'm glad you agree. Actually I think last year was definitely the peak of it, this place was so miserable the entire series because of it. This year started out well but in the last few weeks it's returned to normal and it's a shame

I can imagine it's a pain in the arse to deal with though so I do sympathise. I'm aware there's a rule about OTT hatred of housemates, but is criticising their appearances/general outside lives (i.e. parenting) actually against the rules? Because I personally think it should be if not, it just seems so unnecessary to me it has no relevance to what they're like as housemates and really sours the forum. I imagine it must be awful to sift through if you're a relative of the housemates too, and there's no reason why that should be the case. I know if it were one of my family members or friends being insulted like some of them are on here, it really would not go down well

Honestly, its a bit of a grey area but for example if someone was just going thread to thread saying (for example) Lateysha is a fat waste of space and a bad mother without contributing anything else it would be a rule break. if they add something like that onto the end of pretty much every post its a rulebreak also.

But again, SO many people have been doing this that we have been kinda left with the option of banning half of the forum (and facing the inevitable moaning from people as they have been banned for 'nothing' or kickoffs as friends had been banned for 'nothing) along with a wave of multis, or being more...lenient.

Also again, honestly, I have pretty much stepped back from moderating this season as I cannot deal with it. I am sick of seeing so many people being so vile and completely lacking in self awareness and calling others out on exactly the same thing they have done. I have been dealing with obvious rulebreaks only and am considering stepping down properly as there are just far too many people think they can do whatever the **** they want then moan when punished for it. This is the first year I have felt unable to deal with it all without just permabanning people as the levels of hypocrisy all around has wound me up way too much...as such I feel what I do would be too harsh so have left it all well alone :S

I see how it's so complicated then! In all honesty though I say just ban them or at least make it abundantly clear that you're not going to tolerate such posts going forward, so that everyone knows where they stand. Quite frankly if you're incapable of discussing the participants of a reality show without resorting to calling them 'ugly' or 'fat' or a 'slapper' or a 'beast', you really shouldn't be on a forum. If it means banning half the forum so that they can mature and then the rest of us being able to discuss the merits of the housemates themselves rather than what they look like and how good a parent they are, then I'm all for it

I'm also really glad I'm not the only one that notices the inconsistencies and hypocrisy of some on here I find it so infuriating...like, how can you knowingly chastise one thing and then do it yourself in the next breath? Or agree with a sentiment when it aligns with your opinion and then criticise it when it doesn't it's a common problem on this forum

I'd be sad to see you step down as I think you're one of the fairest mods but knowing how annoyed I get just seeing these posts as a regular member, I can't imagine how infuriating it must be to try and moderate them, so I understand where you're coming from

I don't personally think that she's a bad mother and I think she's actually really attractive, but I don't see people get up in arms when personal comments are made about less popular housemates, it just seems that the more popular a housemate is, the more unacceptable it is to say anything bad about them.

There are definitely double standards on here from both sides and I'm getting pretty fed up of the inconsistency of some of late to be quite honest but I'm not one of them. Every year I say the same thing, people's opinions on housemates need to suspended when it comes to this issue because insulting people you watch on television for 48 minutes a night about the way they look, their parenting, or slut-shaming them, is just so pathetic it's beyond comprehension.

It's like being on a forum with a bunch of ten year olds

Yeah, the people who seem to be moaning about double standards the most throughout threads are primarily responsible for a lot of the double standards themselves, it's tedious to see day in day out.

you legit just judged Lateysha as a parent by saying "she rather be on a tv show than look after her one year baby" making out she doesn't care about a baby and then you moan about Jason so you're being a hypocrite.

Well, I didn't, I actually said if people see that as a reason to judge her as a bad parent then they're entitled to.

I'll also refer back to my post in which the first thing I said was 'I don't think she's a bad mother'

Yes Jack , you tell them, you of course are the epitome of the grown up forum member

I mean, surely it could not have been you that just this moment, in Serious Debates posted this in my Donald Trump thread?

You are aware that said post was a joke, right? A joke that I then clarified was a joke to another member. A joke made in a thread about a topic of which my opinions are already well documented. You are aware of all of this, right?

There's a notable difference here which makes your comparison a moot one. My post was a joke, the endless posts about Lateysha (or 'Ldfosgps' if you wanna deliberately spell a housemate's name wrong with some disconcerting undertones) being 'fat' or a 'slag' or a 'slapper' or a 'terrible mother' are not. They are the serious opinions of the people who are posting them. As are the attacks on Jason about him being a 'beast' or 'ugly' or a 'woman beater'.

A nice attempt at character assassination there LT, but I'm afraid you need to try harder.

Irony of Helen stans judging Teesh for going on a show to get money for her child when Hell**** did the same thing? Works both ways!

Helens son wasn't a baby ,Helens son didn't take his 1st steps while she was in the house ..Helens son was old enough to explain what she was going ....Welsh Beyonces BABY was not ....its took her all her time to even look at the screen when the poor little girl was on ,she never even asked if she was ok,just used the precious time to grab attention for herself by screeching like a trapped cat

Lateysha pressed the button as soon as she knew it was a message about Wynter, it was actually Jackson who took his time to go to the TV's

But again by this standard Jason must not care about his pets because he didn't turn, shall we call him a bad pet owner?

Perfect post

IIRC Helen rarely ever mentioned her son on the show as well, something Lateysha is being criticised for

She mentioned him about twice in the whole series

10 is not even high school age, surely that means he's far too young to be left at home with a non-parent?

She mentioned him about twice in the whole series

10 is not even high school age, surely that means he's far too young to be left at home with a non-parent?
He obviously didn't need nurturing like a small baby and didn't need feeding by his mother,he was old enough to understand what his mom is doing and old enough to,do his own thing pretty much,i don't really know what Helen has to do with this

The comments calling Lateysha a bad mother are hilarious considering she went on the show to get money for her daughter (which she's done by the way)

I mean if people want to judge parenting then watch super nanny or something, big brother is about them as a housemate/person. We don't know what they do with their kids because it's all behind closed doors. They would be so pissed off if they got judged as a parent.

She went on the show for HERSELF and no one else, have you found her bank account yet? I'm still waiting for you to provide proof of all you claim as facts
