INCORRECT

Piers Morgan delighted as Good Morning Britain pulls in 'highest ever audience'

"Monday’s show, presented by Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, peaked (at
6.40am), with a 32.3% share, while total viewers peaked (at 8.40am) with
1.65 million.

Peaked is very different to the overall average

"don't worry, he'll get a job at GB News!" . A journalist with a career spanning decades and an extensive mainstream broadcast career, will be perfectly content with ranting his little pants off preaching to the choir on the Freeview broadcast news equivalent of Parler. An actual hoot .

I honestly don't think his ego could take it. He couldn't take Markle's rejection, he couldn't take a milquetoast takedown from a GMB colleague, but he'll get out of bed every morning to appear on sad niche telly? It's not going to happen is it. Don't get me wrong - it'll be REALLY, REALLY FUNNY if it does - but it won't.

Social media hot-air and a "tell all" autobiographical account of his time on GMB (which will, because Bwitain, no doubt be a best seller) is what I see on the horizon for him.

Obviously but I can't see him wanting to go from mainstream daytime telly to niche-news on channel 685 or whatever, honestly he'd be better off starting a YouTube channel, it really is just sad. Each to their own I guess.

Good of GMBHD itv
3 presenters Ben, Kate and the Doctor
to talk of Piers Morgan's
good interrogation of the many MP's.

No hard feelings from them.

And they are going to Debate
Freedom of Speech

All far better than slow bbc1AM

...I think personally that ‘controversial’ has a very short lifespan/shelf life etc, it’s quite a disingenuous thing...and if successful, as Piers has been, obviously...it’s that thing of inevitably believing your own hype and having no personality other than the one you’ve created, which is how it felt when he had no response to Alex because he wasn’t the one ‘in control’ in that moment...and his ‘creation’ of controversial Piers wasn’t fitting with mental health care, which is what the show promotes...there’s a clip being shown atm with Piers insisting that Charlotte Hawkins stand up and show the viewers the dress she’s wearing because he’s saying that it’s short like a ‘mini skirt’ so he knows that summer must be here if that’s her outfit...excuse me, what on earth...?...they maybe should have considered his position much earlier as a front man of their programme...

Thumbs up TELEGRAPH VIEW

The resignation of Piers Morgan from his role hosting the
Good Morning Britain news show is further collateral damage
from the interview given by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex
to Oprah Winfrey broadcast this week.

Arguably, it is the least important consequence given the
impact on the Royal family and the unjustified international
opprobrium that has attached to the UK following the couple’s
assertion that they were driven from these shores by racism.

But what has happened to Mr Morgan is significant because it
is further evidence of the growing and insidious tendency to shut
out views that do not conform to a set of opinions considered
“acceptable”. Mr Morgan was taken to task by the weather presenter
on Good Morning Britain for declaring that he did “not believe a word”
the Duchess had said about her mental health issues or her battle against racism.

He walked off the set, returned later, and then quit rather
than apologise. More than 41,000 complaints were lodged
with Ofcom, while the Duchess reportedly complained to
ITV itself. Had the on-air contretemps not happened, perhaps
the matter would never have developed in the way it did. But
it is just as likely that the regulator and ITV would have demanded
the retraction, which Mr Morgan was not prepared to offer. Ofcom
was investigating the comments on the somewhat specious grounds
that they undermined efforts to improve mental health.

Despite the complaints, it is at least conceivable that Mr Morgan’s
opinion is widely shared; but even if it isn’t, he is entitled to express it,
as indeed are those who don’t agree with him. Closing down debate,
however, is a dangerous way to proceed.

Thanks for that LT.

Andrew Neil on ITV1HD this morning
would like Piers on his new GBnewsHD
but not the same as what he was doing
on GMBHD itv.

So it could be a different or interview debate show
I am sure Piers can find a new show on that new channel.

Big weeping manbaby behaves without an ounce of professionalism or decorum, refuses to take responsibility, and then brands it "unfair" and "being silenced". It's so pathetic I don't even know where to start. His opinions were never the problem - if they were he'd have been out years ago - his ego, demeanor and sense of entitlement got him the boot. End of story really.

He spent years blaring over people, misrepresenting them with his big-loud-voice and not letting them get a word in, then when it happened to him on a topic that hit a nerve (his personal bias against Meghan Markle) he stormed out.

What employee realistically would expect NOT to be shown the door if they refused to apologise?

Y'all know its true too, making the attempts to defend his behaviour - not his opinions, his behaviour - laughable.

Yes and After the Break Came Back

He had a chance to say sorry
but told GMB he wants to leave

Now GBnewsHD (Free on Freeview & all others) boss can offer a new type show for him.

GMB told him he had to apologise and take a clear stance supporting mental health or leave, and he chose to "resign". Let's at least try to be accurate. They call is "termination by mutual agreement" but it's a polite way of saying he was canned because he didn't fit the job requirements any more, and refused to adapt.

Yes I already talked about how excited I am at the possibility of seeing him hunkered down like a troglodyte on Channel 87367 "GB News" with Tommy Robinson's cock in one hand, Nigel Farage's arsehole wrapped around the ring finger of the other, and Katie Hopkins sat on his face .

In all seriousness it would genuinely amuse me to see him lowering himself to one of these NuRight echo Chambers. I don't think he will, though. He doesn't see himself as that - although it's interesting to realise that both his detractors AND his fans apparently do see him as that. A rare moment of consensus.

SIR – The Duchess of Sussex has a pack of cards stored for use against our
monarchy and press. If anyone says they don’t believe her stories, she takes
out a card and plays it. Piers Morgan came under fire in just this way.

However, as someone who has had mental health issues and has known other
sufferers, I can say that I was not affected by Piers Morgan’s comment. He was
giving his opinion on the whole interview, not just one part of it.
