Not the point at all, I'm not claiming to know better than him, just pointing out that taking all of your information from one daily YouTube video and thinking that's the be all and end all of the situation - and handing out advice to others based on that - is probably not sensible.

No one has the answers or conclusions on Covid yet. No one. Not the world's most qualified virologists. So no... Dr John's millions of YouTube followers don't make a difference.

Not that he's even the one drawing conclusions, all he's doing is dumbing down the science for the less scientifically minded, adding a little bit of his own opinion. It's the viewers that are drawing conclusions.

A folk singer from the Czech Republic has died after deliberately catching Covid, her son has told the BBC.

Hana Horka, 57, was unvaccinated and had posted on social media that she was recovering after testing positive, but died two days later.

Her son, Jan Rek, said she got infected on purpose when he and his father had the virus, so she could get a recovery pass to access certain venues.

The Czech Republic reported a record number of cases on Wednesday.

Mr Rek and his father, who are both fully vaccinated, both caught Covid over Christmas. But he said his mother had decided not to stay away from them, preferring instead to expose herself to the virus.

"She should have isolated for a week because we tested positive. But she was with us the whole time," he said.

Proof of vaccination or recent infection from the virus is required in the Czech Republic to gain entry to many social and cultural venues, including cinemas, bars and cafes.

i think there are very few circumstances that face masks make a quantifiable difference. Look at France that has all these restrictions in place, they had 300k infections in 1 day last week

Default Coronavirus Outbreak : Johnson in Parliament : Plan B ends on the 26th

As an update.. I awoke yesterday morning feeling unwell ( tested negative) and took the day off work (started with a sore throat and headache in the night )

During the day I was completely exhausted , dull headache , sore throat and very hoarse voice ..

Now overnight I had spells of coughing my guts up and my lungs were slightly burning .. I was real scared - I tested positive at about 4am , took paracetamol then thankfully managed to get a bit of sleep .

Today my throat feels better although my voice is really gruff , thankfully the cough isn’t as bad ( but coughs are usually worse in the evenings ) so we shall see how that goes ..

I’ve spent most of the day in bed completely exhausted .. can’t concentrate on anything , no appetite , medium headache , jaw ache and real bad backache. Temperature running hot and cold all day which itself is horrible .

So if anyone tells you that it’s no worse than the common cold you have my permission to give them a slap !!

I’ve done a little research on the current symptoms and a sore throat is THE most common indicator by far ..

In all seriousness Zizu you want to keep an eye on upper back ache and jaw ache because those can be "heart symptoms". Could of course just be your chest and sinuses but worth being vigilant anyway, a lot of people don't know that about jaw ache.

Thanks .. yes sinuses are completely “bunged up” and I’m steaming my face .. which helps for a while

it is lower back pain ( bottom of spine ) incidentally..

My sinuses are a mess at the moment... And I have very sore throat, cough and breathlessness. Multiple LF's and a PCR day it's not Covid though .

I also had a night terror a few nights ago - that was a ****ing adventure .
