Welbeck would improve the squad. Would Giroud frighten Bayern's defence like Welbeck did? His pace, energy and ability to close down are fantastic. Great on the ball as well.

His striking record is poor due to being played out of position. Last season he played six times through the middle... scored 6 goals.

I know he never really played his best for us but this could backfire if we don't make top four.

When Arsenal went down to ten men at home, you had nothing upfront. Welbeck would of brought that. He was the only player against Bayern that scared them for us... and we have 11 men.

He also made Xabi Alonso look like an average player against Real.

He's never had a proper run of playing through the middle. Arsene giving him that chance will see him prosper, imo.

I like Wellbeck as a squad player but not as our new number 9. I agree with what Thierry Henry said about him during the world cup. Henry said he found it frustrating to watch Wellbeck as he gets the ball in good areas where if it was Henry in those areas he'd knock the ball past the defender and go straight for goal. Welbeck like to check back, look for his teammates etc. Wellbeck is a good player but I dont think he's a number 9 for a top club.

He's never been given a consistent chance to be a Number 9. When he has, he's done well. 6 in 6 last season is a great return.
