It seems so bizarre that in all of this, the whole "first woman president" thing has completely disappeared over the precipice. It was basically all anyone said about 2008.

A fair point, I wonder whether that's more to do with Trump's comments and character dominating most of the campaign or whether gender politics are just less important in the US than racial ones are
