Well it's only a couple of months to go now, so let's just wait and see what blue Starmer does, shall we?

I wouldn't be going out at all doing canvassing for Labour if the Rwanda policy would be carried on by us.

I've detested the Rwanda policy from it first being mentioned.

How would you feel if on day one it isn't scrapped, and you've all been led a merry dance for the zillionth time, by this absolute shyster?

I can tell you how I'll feel if it is scrapped "bloody hell, fair play. I'm shocked, now lets see what else he does that's more progressive than he appeared"

You are wrong and I won't be disappointed

Maybe it would please you more now to see Sunak and co continue.

I don't walk away just because I don't get my own way.
You've turned solid against Labour.
I haven't and I wanted a Corbyn win as much as you or others.
However, he'd not have been able at all to do his nationalisation promises because had he won in 2019.
He'd have had the pandemic massive crisis too.

So he'd have had to disappoint you and loads of others.in breakimg a lot of manifesto promises in light of that.

I didn't walk away when I didn't get my own way. I wouldn't have picked Starmer, I'd have gone for RBG, but I walked away when Starmer turned away from what got him elected into a tory tribute act. You can try and pretend that he hasn't, but I think everyone has seen what he's done.

I think there is also a complete misconception that Starmer is the reason lab will win the next election, and not because of a complete 5 year meltdown by the Tories.

You call yourself a socialist Joey, and there is nothing socialist about labour anymore. If you want teams, then you're doing the right thing, but voting for the closest party to my principles (even though they have no chance of winning government), isn't taking the easy way out. Voting for the opposite of socialism because you believe you're part of their team is taking the easy way, my friend.

I personally don't like Starmer, personally I was more of an Ed Miliband guy out of the recent Labour leaders.

However Starmer can't get away with being a full blown Tory, because his backbenchers will have something to say about that if he were to try.

Absolutely right
If Starmer was more Tory I'd not be voting for Labour.
I know that's nonsense however that he is.
I even think he could surprise positively as PM if Labour wins this election.

Ed Miliband was okay, I did and do like him.
It's good he's part of Starmer's team.

His mistakes however were 2 howlers.

In the Independence referendum in Scotland, he made a massive error in standing on a platform surrounded by Cameron and Clegg.
Scotland had supported Labour solidly and warranted a more independent view of the issue from Labour.
Not seeing Miliband like Cameron's and Clegg's poodle on it

Plus he too should have promised a referendum on the EU.
I think he'd have saved hoards of previous votes had he done those 2 things better.

I tbf can agree with you on those points.

Especially the Scotland one, as he really gave ground to the SNP the day that he stood with Cameron essentially.

The party has been and is a continual process of being purged of back benchers that would kick up a fuss. Local parties don't have the right to make their own selections anymore because Starmer wants to control it, so who are these back bench Mp's ready to take on Starmer?

Mp's generally aren't principled people, they are more like weather vanes, as evidenced by hard tories suddenly becoming labour members.

Look at the major policies that have the most affect on how society runs, and you will see very little (if any at all) distance between labour and tories. These are long standing tory positions - it's not the blue rosettes who've moved closer to labour, so what's the saying about something walking like a duck and quacking like a duck?

I agree that Labour under Starmer will be Tory-lite on a lot of issues, which isn't ideal imo.

I think I'm just hoping for a few things under Labour tbh.

1. Don't be worse than the Tories in terms of social policies.

2. At least have some traditional Labour policies come through, that I personally can get behind, like not privatizing the NHS.

3. Make sure to not put someone as PM that your own support base doesn't even want, let alone the general public.
