When he laughs he's laughing at the absurdity of the situation. Mario was laughing! He was leaning on Bens' shoulder and laughing! Because, like it or not, arguments are funny to on-lookers. So Ben and Shabby wouldn't be laughing, but many of the others probably found it marginally funny. In most cases people finding it funny cos' of how absurd it was.

And what JJ did to Ben? Are you kidding? More like what Govan did to Ben and JJ and Josie, and what Shabby did to Ben. More like Ben shouldn't have talked about it to JJ in the first place. JJ wasn't vindictively telling Josie, he's dim, he didn't realise how sensitive the information was... or could be... personally I think Shabby took the whole thing out of proportion. She exaggerated and used it as an excuse to have a go at Ben... because, she is a bully. JJ is far from the top person to blame.
