The gay presenter, 25, has been romantically linked to ex-policeman Dan Neal, one of the main contestants of this summer’s series.

BB bosses have a primary rule forbidding presenters and other staff from getting involved with housemates.

They are now investigating to see if Rylan, who won the last CBB series, has crossed the line by dating Dan.

The pair are understood to have got together last month after Dan was evicted from the Big Brother house.

He went on Rylan’s late-night show Big Brother’s Bit On The Side for an interview. Others in the room said sparks flew and they flirted.

Dan told X Factor flop Rylan, who has had his lips plumped up, he had given up his job in the police as it “stifled” his creative side.

The 33-year-old was part of Scotland Yard’s Operation Yewtree squad which investigated alleged celebrity sex crimes in the wake of the Savile scandal.

He said he had joined the reality TV show as he wanted a career in showbiz.

When filming ended, they were observed swapping phone numbers.

Days later, word leaked that Dan had dumped his boyfriend Matt Parker, 24.

Matt had been at Elstree TV Studios every week throughout the summer supporting Dan while he was in the house.

However, gossip soon reached him that Dan had become close to Rylan, who has also had his teeth fixed into a into a toothy Hollywood smile.

Matt logged into Dan’s Twitter account, which he had set up for him, and discovered a string of private flirty messages between them.

In one, Rylan raised concerns about them going public with their affair saying: “If I tweet now it’s gonna practically be like: ‘I’m with Dan.'”

Dan asks him: “Will you get a blocking at work?”

And Rylan warns: “Depends if the press get hold of it. I’ll call you in a min.”

Furious Matt posted the tweets on Twitter with no regrets.

He even added: “Dan is so fame hungry. He will do anything, I just want people to know what he’s doing to get fame! He hated Rylan.”

Ex Big Bit On The Side host Jamie East said of the scandal: “Rule No 1 – Don’t ******* the housemates.”

Last night, Rylan’s spokes-man and Channel 5 both declined to comment.
